From forests cared for by Södra's member families, through production at Värö mill, residual heat is recovered and delivered as local district heating in Varberg.
For years, Varberg Energi has used residual heat from Södra's Värö mill to provide district heating for homes and businesses in Varberg. Now we’re taking the next step together by making the full connection visible through Enriched by Södra: from Swedish family forestry and the material used in production at Värö mill, to the residual heat that is recovered for local use.
At Värö mill, forest material is transformed into products. The production process also generates residual heat. Instead of going to waste, that heat is recovered and transferred to Varberg Energi's district heating network, where it helps warm homes and businesses in the local area.
Enriched by Södra helps tell the story of that entire chain: family forests, production at Värö mill, residual heat and local heat in Varberg. It reflects a shared commitment to long-term care, innovation and making more from every tree.
From family forests. Through Värö mill. Residual heat for Varberg.
